
The North America and Pelican Nebulae
by Philippe Moussette from Québec, CanadaThe North America Nebula (NGC 7000) lies 3° east of Deneb (Alpha Cygni). Sharp-eyed observers can view it without optical aid from a dark site. Somewhat fainter, the Pelican Nebula (IC 5067 + IC 5070) sits 1.5° west-southwest of its larger neighbor. It lies to the right of the center of this image.
