I saw many people happy with their lives, I think that’s enough to conclude that the world was in order for me.
I’m surprisingly ok with my college decisions. The initial bitterness was probably because I had convinced myself earlier that I had some sort of advantage. Some special trait. And I guess I do, it’s just that it wasn’t what they were looking for and there were other kids that had much more appealing academics and extracurriculars. This isn’t a post about how I got rejected. It’s a post to myself and any others who have gotten rejected that this doesn’t and never will diminish your worth as an individual in life. After all, college is what you make of it and not so much the defining qualities of the institution. I’m too grateful to have a chance at college, a privilege that doesn’t befall many people outside of the United States. It’s a second chance and I’m going to seize it by the horns. I thank everyone in my life that has made a small or large impact in me, you’re the ones that have shaped me to become who I am. I’ll live my life, and I’ll live it well. I’ll take this opportunity and leave for greater horizons.
